Welcome to the Welborn Productions site.
This is a place for my projects, code snippets, and whatever else I think might be useful.
This mental switch is not only about my site. I'm switching to Python 3 where ever I can. If you're not forced to use 2, by some OS or library, then I see no reason to stay.strings, and the new object. I didn't want to use the module directly, but I did need the site to run on both 2 and 3 for now. So I did it the hard way. I manually switched every line of code to be Python 2 safe, while leaning towards Python 3. In the future I will remove all remains of Python 2 stuff. Besides some other small pitfalls and code smells ( was in there several times), it wasn't that bad of an experience and I'm glad I did it. No one can stay on Python 2 forever. I certainly don't want to hold on to Python 2 after seeing all of this awesome new stuff in 3.3 and 3.4.
